i am so far behind with Tag tuesday and will be having a big catch up after the market next weekend...there have been so many great themes i have missed.....

anyway i couldnt miss the Jubilee theme this week so am sneaking in on the Queens Birthday long weekend here in Australia...

i used a gessoed magazine image and gave her a dress she would never be seen in :)lots of bling too with pearlex powders, twinklings and lumiere paint...

Tag Tuesday...Easter...

Well Easter is nearly over but i hope everyone had a lovely one :)

it suddenly dawned on me i hadnt made my tag, must be chocolate fuzz on the brain ;)

i collaged and painted over a clothing tag......something i love doing. Have you noticed how many different shapes and materials they are made of?

found the egg sticker and a bit of washi tape in my stash and it was done. love these text fringes too....


i am still beavering away with the atc backgrounds too, have started packaging...so not long now ....

ooppsie....its that chocolate again )))
i also forgot to share the prevoius weeks TT which was egg....i used a scrap of denim to make an eggy shaped pocket and added 3 little pink chookies with polka dot scarves....i love practicing my free motion stitching , dont think it will ever come naturally but it is fun...:)

or...Lucy Goosy Gander...[dont get upset Luce:)still practising with my left hand... using water soluble crayons this time....i messed up the background so cut her out and stuck her on some scrap painty paper...

shes a bit duck colored :) and the beaks wrong but shes got wise old eyes....

and sneaking in again before Tuesday .....

and look where my youngest is!!! she watched the sunrise come up this morning....

last Monday night she got asked if she wanted to go on 'Safari' with all the rotary students on exchange in Australia as a leader....3 weeks all expenses paid.....miss one week year 12.... postpone her car liscense....shift her sac[exam]to 8.30 friday morning so she could be on bus at 9.30;) and tell work she needed time off....... and she was gone on Friday.......and already at Uluru and having a ball....

ive been working on th elittle book of atc backgrounds but have put it on hold for this week...i want to work on charlies quilt this week while shes away... and then ill get the book in the mail easter weekend...its looking good...so many lovely techniques.....

My mad March Hare.....i am a bit late due to the rush around with the market.....i have tried to keep it really simple and free.

Drew it with my non dominant hand and then tried to keep lots of white space....

i unfortunately painted it on wrong side of gessoed canvas ...oh well!

Tag tuesday. Poetry and Prose...

Practising my white space this week....:) something I'm not good at!! Any way i found this tag with the spilt watercolors and added some ink spray and the tiny lily of the valley paper flowers that i found at work today. computer font is eightfifteen.

i have also been re reading The Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon and this is one my favorite quotes from them and she has so many.........its hard to describe her books but they are so multi layered and rollicking good fun with lots of romance, drama and history.

i have discovered reading again lately, its like a good movie where you can just escape for a little while...and 10-15 mins at the start and end of day is such good way to escape :) Ive just finished the 6th book and wondered whether there was another one out....id missed it...now how did that happen! i have remedied that by ordering it online and.... she has another one out next year :)

As its still Valentines month i thought what could be more appropriate than a Scottish wedding vow that the two main characters use when they are married.....

Tag Tuesday...Valentine's Day

Hello my loverlies, I'm a day late here for Valentines day but Happy Valentines Day anyway!

Just popping quickly in before i head off to work to post my tag for Tag Tuesday this week.

I just recycled a post bag and slapped a bit of paint around as well as some pretty black roses tissue from one of the lovely ladies at hubbys work. She gave me a heap of pretty napkins :) I found the red doily lying on the table and added a sari silk rose to the centre...




For Valentines Day, i made a few of these pockets for my friends ! i then spent a lovely afternoon at Jenny's after work chatting, drinking tea and stripping lavender from her two bushes. We are into the next market in March and thought we would make some lavender bags...

This is my second week back at work after having a lovely break and im still plodding with Charlies quilt, have to say im really happy with how its turning out but it still needs putting together and im hoping it will come together ok...Poor girl, it was her 19th Birthday a couple of weeks ago so its now a WHOLE year late, she has been very patient but it is going to get done soon... it will, it will get done SOON!

Tag Tuesday ....Heart

i spent a relaxing morning on hols just fiddling and playing with faces... i just love mucking about with them and i dont know where this spooky little face came from but i was trying to keep to basically two colors, green and yellow as an experiment... ive used basic kids watercolors and had a play with my new goldens
[you dont need much , they go alongway ..]

Now i know you are saying wheres the heart.... can you spot it...


i got red spot under the eye and thought yes turn it into a heart.... i used a gel pen cos it was so small but had to dab it off as it was so bright and then i dobbed Pattys white painty pen over the top and it made nice little circle around the heart. I love this pen, if its too bright you can dab it off for transparent look...so now im all caught up for another week, im enjoying these challenges....

Tag Tuesday Lace....

well i got a bit behind with last weeks tag tuesday....well, actually a bit confused more like it...i made the heart one for this week instead and then realised last night i still had to make the lace one !
i have been dying to get back to my paint and paper so it was time for change....Blogger is being incredibly slow at posting images tonight....

anyway here tis ...

i found a green tag and gessoed over some plastic lace tablecloth, added some twinks over the top [ love how the gesso resists the twinks] and then cut out a green doily Jan sent me last week as a Thank you :)

i couldnt find anything suitable for the centre but love drawing these little trees and as everybody knows, i just want to pack up and head off ....somewhere, anywhere ..........

Tag Tuesday....Vintage...

and the transformation of a scarf....

i had this bright idea to make lacy scarves but they didnt look very nice on, so ive been debating about what to do with them....

i decided that some cut off would make a nice tag for Tag Tuesday...and being vintage, well that was just perfect.... using lots of vintage laces from doilys, tablecloths and table cloths...

i then added the flower made from singed organza , tulle and satin using doily as a base.......
i love making these flowers :)






then luce put it around her wrist and i lost it...its now a cuff :)



lucy is not that orange in real life, really !



Think i might cut up the rest and make cuffs for the next market :)Thank Luce!!

my tag this week...

i had made my tag earlier this week but the camera was flat... :( anyway this weeks Tag Tuesday was white and i knew that would be challenge, being a color person...

i virtually pulled out anything white with lots of texture, embossed vellum, muslin, the white bubbly paper off the top of chocolates, doily bits, beading, organza and torn bits of table gripper...:) the icing on the cake was when i found the frosty butterfly from the kids old jewellery...

its pretty messy , i just kept layering stuff :)

ive just gone on two weeks holidays and have started or should i say restarted charlies quilt...i made it last year for her 18th but didnt like it, i had no plan apart from the bottom and after that it got very boring and structured ! anyway last night i pulled it apart and i have a plan ;) it would be nice to have done for her 19th bday in a couple of weeks... today hasn't been great with a burn, a cut and mismatched squares lol

im liking the fabrics and the photos form her travels...i can reuse most of them but its not working for me at all...
im having lots of trouble uploading pics tonight, only one at a time, it seems to be able to handle..:(

Tag Tuesday...snowsports...

so hows your weekend been? ive been pretty relaxed watching the test while making backgrounds for atcs and my tag for this week.

the theme is snowsports and i was thinking of doing ice fishing as that fascinates me... im not sure why but i think its the cute little houses that appeal to me [the cold certainly doesnt and im not big fan of fishing or spending my time looking down a hole in the ice..] I was thinking they must lose some of cute little shacks if the ice suddenly melts and was googling images to find for my tag and yes, there they were trying to save them.......

Anyway then i came across this image from

i thought at first these innocent little munchkins are building a big snowball to roll off the nearest mountain , create an avalanche and swallow up the town below.....

or

maybe they are just buliding a snowman !!!


Anyway, heres my tag. i printed image onto canvas , stitched lots of layers of muslin over the top and cut out the middle and around the outside. i had hoped the circles around the outside would come out bubbly :( i added some tulle, organza and beads for the bow and it was done...im enjoying these challenges as they make do something :)


Its been nice making atcs again... i have a local exhibition in Feb [details following soon] so am getting busy.
