busy week this.....

what a busy week its been ... first of all Charlz entered her tea towel dress in the Lead On Fashion Parade for the start of fashion week.
It was so hard getting decent pics because the girls were literally racing down the catwalk as they had a lot of models to get thru.
Her dress was based on the colors of the Northern Territory when we went on our trip in 2005. She dyed all the tea towels with coffee, tea and sun prints dyes. [not that there was any sun when she did them!!] The tulle was painted with acylic paint. The skirt has two layers of tulle under the frill.

Anyway i was a pretty proud mum!!

She made this wonderful mixed media necklace the inspiration which came a fairly recent edition of cloth paper scissors magazine.

Then today Luce had to have her hat done for the Fashions on the fields at Bendigo racecourse. The schools had entered and the girls looked gorgeous.
Luce raided my buttons and then beaded all the top of it before adding tulle and peacock feathers. Took her ages just to do the top and i was very proud of her patience. [anyone who knows Luce , knows that patience is NOT her middle name, but she does love to do tiny intricate things sometimes!]
Here's my girl.... looks pretty cute!!!

While we were there she wasn't interested in the fashions but the horses of course!
Naturally!!!

Last year we went to the Harness racing club for luce to get get an award for her Equine studies . While we there she studied the horses and got placings in the 5 or 6races that were on. I thought its just beginners luck although by the end of the night i was wondering???
Anyway today she studies the horses in the mounting yard , tells me which ones and blow me down , she gets placings again in all 4 races.

She has a theory but if i told you i'd have to kill you!!!!

And i am going to learn how to place bets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Happy Fathers Day too, to all the dads out there.

My poor hubby had a bit of a lack lustre day but we love him to bits!!
