Paper show fun...

I had a lovely girly fun day with my Mixed Media girls on Saturday...it was a shame Lynne couldn't come, she would've loved it...

we took the train at 6am [but was worth it] to Melbourne for the Paper show ......

we had a lovely brekky at Starbucks and then headed out to do our class with Jane Davenport on painting faces......

I had booked online and booked the wrong day ...when I tried to get in on the Sat, it was booked out (((

Jenny kindly let me have her ticket and she did another class which she has posted about on her blog.......

we used one of janes stencils and  archival ink to to get the face details on one sheet.....and that's as far as I have got lol...

and on another page we built up a background using napkins and tissue paper....Clare and I shared, so our backgrounds looked similar but they turned out so differently as did all the class...it always amazes me how you all start with one thing and end up completely different....

I was lucky to have some of patty's beautiful map paper and some deer napkins ...:)

 mine...

 Clare's...love her 'horns !'

 Wendy's

we also utilised the Starbucks napkins from breakfast...:)

Clare has made great progress on hers and I filled in some more of mine today.....it feels good to get to get my mojo going again....

my shopping doesn't look much but I doubled my washi tape supply and bought some cool stencils.....and another white sharpie pen..i love these....

then we checked out two Typos stores where i picked up my bargain wooden rulers for a future furniture fixer upper :)

so all in all it was a lovely day with my lovely mixed media playmates....lots of fun  shopping and some arty play...what more could you ask :)

Lovely lovely faces, what a great idea with the stencil as a starting point.
I love your Washi stash, got a little one of those on the go myself, cough cough... and the rulers, wonderful to find soooo many, can't wait to see what you do with them! Mx

How fun to spend the day with friends doing what you enjoy!
Great idea to begin with a stencil (drawing faces scares me)and your backgrounds are super!
Wondering what a Typos store is exactly...I do know I like it because I have a thing for rulers LOL
It is always nice seeing and hearing about your adventures!
