Tag Tuesday and stuff:)

or...Lucy Goosy Gander...[dont get upset Luce:)still practising with my left hand... using water soluble crayons this time....i messed up the background so cut her out and stuck her on some scrap painty paper...

shes a bit duck colored :) and the beaks wrong but shes got wise old eyes....

and sneaking in again before Tuesday .....

and look where my youngest is!!! she watched the sunrise come up this morning....

last Monday night she got asked if she wanted to go on 'Safari' with all the rotary students on exchange in Australia as a leader....3 weeks all expenses paid.....miss one week year 12.... postpone her car liscense....shift her sac[exam]to 8.30 friday morning so she could be on bus at 9.30;) and tell work she needed time off....... and she was gone on Friday.......and already at Uluru and having a ball....

ive been working on th elittle book of atc backgrounds but have put it on hold for this week...i want to work on charlies quilt this week while shes away... and then ill get the book in the mail easter weekend...its looking good...so many lovely techniques.....

Tag Tuesday...Rabbit

My mad March Hare.....i am a bit late due to the rush around with the market.....i have tried to keep it really simple and free.

Drew it with my non dominant hand and then tried to keep lots of white space....

i unfortunately painted it on wrong side of gessoed canvas ...oh well!

Market Day....

Its sooo nice to be home, tired and somewhat exhausted...no way could i do this every weekend........

Jenny and i had a reasonable day selling although people are definately watching their pennies which is fine...i am too :)

Its always hard to know what will sell and i wish i had just made stacks of these Big brooches... i really just made them as a bit of an afterthought..... i was making scarfy ones and had some left over fabric .....

anyway it was a lovely sunny day after the absolute downpour we had the day before and we were lucky to have a lovely sunny spot by the window.....the town hall looked so pretty with all the sun streaming in .........


jewellery continues to be a big seller......seems a girl just cant get enough....

It was lovely day full of chat, laughter, chais and yummo sandwiches [thanks hun].

We also met another lovely arty blogger who is having a rather unusual sale....:)

AND our money nearly balanced which is always a good end to the day :)

Tag Tuesday Birds...

Sneaking in again with last weeks Tag Tuesday......

the tear drop tag i couldnt resist....it came off my new pair of shoes and the birdie is from some pretty napkins i purchased yesterday at Maldon....oh and the variegated silk ribbon is from hubbys friend who gifted me a great box of goodies this week :) thanks Di....

i guess it was meant to come together at this late stage :) thats my excuse anyway....

Labour Day weekend...

its been the long weekend here and i guess if your house was not under water from the floods, then its been a beautiful weekend :)

we took a little driving trip to Maldon today to get some driving time up for Charlie who only has about 10 hours left before she go for her licence...
we checked out lots of little shops, secondhand [dear as poison] , arty and gifty ones...
we stopped by the old school which is now a cafe/gallery...

you can see how sunny it was....
a nice chai, chocolate cheesecake and an exhibition of paintings spurred us on for the next part of town...

checked out the lavender and lace shop....oh so many beautiful things.....

aren't the chooks cute...?

oooh a dresser full of laces so wanted to go thru it but we running out of time...



the floors were interesting too, flagstones and patched from old crates....



oooh and $1.00 chest, had a quick rummage thru that.




A few weeks i did an atc swap with the lovely Dot . i knew i would get something special back...isnt this atc just gorgeous, not only beautiful colors and textures but her embellishing is wonderful....i certainly wouldnt have the patience ....

she also sent some lovely goodies and one of her embellished stuffies she has been making...

ive also had the computer woes this week but its all fixed [was a simple fix in the end] and my email is working again....i have recieved so many beautiful backgrounds this week too and think ive contacted everyone to let them know they have arrived.....there was lots of ooohing and ahhing at craft !
The Square Market is also on next weekend so it will be another busy week, hope you all have a good one :)

Tag Tuesday....books.... pic overload !

There are lots of things i shouldve been doing today on my day off [i have every second friday and sat off and go to work sun afternoon], cleaning, purging, making stuff for the market, working on the quilt.... however i was feeling a bit flat after a long week.........stocktake at work :( and just wanted to make something...

i had so many ideas to be crafting that my brain was going into overload and i thought id better just focus on one :) do you get like that when you havent made anything for a while? ......i was awake at 5.30 thinking about all the projects i wanted to make and the housework didnt stand a chance :)

so thought id spend a couple of hours....yeah yeah ! and make my tag for Tag Tuesday....... i found this tag on the floor while doing a little bit of tidying up and thought what a geat book cover it would make.

so i pulled it apart, gessoed it and covered it in wet teabgs still with lots of tea leaves on them....i was too impatient to wait for them to dry.


i used some paper napkins, gesso and stamping for the inside as well as an 'ode to the tea bag' with the tag off the tea bag collaged inside the cover...


i had some tea bags drying to use for the pages...... absolutely beautiful colors they were from the blackcurrent tea. [ive not used any paint except gesso.] i love dying with colored teas now, id never thought about till i took Caroles class....

i then collaged bits off flowery napkins , some script text and my typo birdie stamps.....use these all time too...perfect for little things....

i used matt medium and the pages are quite leathery. i also love the way the stamps show thru to the back layer...




i then zigzagged the pages together and stitched them into the book.... i had intended to add some writing but i just like looking at it, so its teeny-tiny-tag-picture book....
