Febs dress ups ...

Well i just scraped in with mine, mind you its taken me all week to do!

When i first started it, it was going to be all pale but it looked really
wishy washy with the twinklings and had me totally stumped. So i attacked it with red, pink and white paint and it just fell together... you can read how i made it here.

Aren't these little dresses fun? I am so enjoying visiting people blogs and seeing the variety of dresses. I changed the shape on this one and i still think it looks a bit Disney princessy [i was aiming for more Scarlett O'Hara!!] However, if anyone wants the pattern, email me and ill send it to you.

My OWOH giveaways left last Saturday and Marion in Germany has already received hers...1 down to two to go...

I also made this Gothic arch card for
inkurable stampers , theme was lace. My entire background was lace scraps gelled onto a glimmermist background. i am really enjoying this technique, you get such wonderful texture and mopped up some of the glimmermist excess with lace too which took very well.

All is good here, just seems to be cycle of work and weekends! I am trying to do a little
making each day though, which i need. It makes the nearly full time work tolerable.
So enthusiastic aren't I ?
Still in two weeks im off for a weekend with a patchwork group . I was told NOT to take my rotary cutter, i think it might be a cause of embarassment to the serious patchworkers!!

Fluffy Heart Love....

Happy Valentines Day everybody!

We have had a nice quiet weekend and i even had Saturday to myself pottering around making some souvenirs for Charlie, while i watched the opening of the winter games. It was wonderful with all the music and light shows. How sad for the Georgian team walking out there minus one, it would have been a real mix of emotions.
This year too beacuse of my blog and the internet it was amazing how many countries were repesented by my online friends from all the world. And i'll be cheering for Denmark too [only when theres no aussies in!]

oh and KD rocks.......she was amazing.

so go Canada it was a great opening.

i have been so overwhelmed by all the lovely comments for OWOH and am trying to get around to as many of your blogs as i can before it finishes. i will check out them all properly after this finishes so i can get a peep into your lives and art.

wooohooo and new followers too, this event really does bring people together :)

Ive made another needlecase too, this ones different and im not showing it, its going to be surprise! heehee

These two atc's already have a home but the background is Glorious Brayered Paper, a tute here...lots of fun and so many wonderful effects. We have been doing a swap on one of my forums and the variations and colors have been fantastic.

Summer Garden Dress...

Well I finally finished my first Dress for Margaret's Dress ups 2010...

Its all summery and light to cheer up all you frostbitten and snowbound bloggers ;)))

Thanks to Lin Lin for the painted napkin, love its translucency when it was applied to the gessoed card and her fused flowers from a Tracy Bautista workshop.

Now I'm looking at it all, its a combination of 4 different countries which i think is pretty special :) Jan in the Uk sent me the gorgeous beads which i use all the time. Greens not my color so i would never have bought them in a million years.
I love it when people send you things that you wouldn't normally buy yourself.

Tina[US] sent me the cigar box loaded with lots of fantastic goodies! i thought the smell would never go but it just suddenly vanished, I'm slowly revamping it ....
You can check more details on my FlikR if you are interested....

Now i will try and get Feb's dress done and not be late! I have enjoyed going around the different blogs and checking out all the different dresses too...

We rang our girl last night for her Birthday. It feels strange not having her here for that and it was so lovely to hear her voice even though she is sick at the moment. Hard to believe that when she gets back she will be 18. At least i will be able to work on her quilt at my leisure ;)

There are lots of little things that remind me every day of her being away, only 3 plates to dish up, only two piles of folded washing , oh and a bonus, a clean bathroom bench, lol.

OWOH GIVEAWAY....

I cant believe the response to my owoh and i will be making another needle case , not sure what colors yet ! I am trying to get around to all the comments and visit blogs, some i would love to check out more thoroughly and i will as i get time later. I'm trying to work out how to make that post 'sticky' at the top of the page too. For the moment i have added a link to my post on the side bar.

oh and go check out my workmates Jens blog [3 jens at work now, gets a bit confusing over the pa sometimes!] for her owoh. We have quick show and tells at work but it would be fun to get together and slap some paint around!

OWOH Giveaway....

I think most of us know about this by now, it has been sweeping the blog world like a storm!

Photo

It's such a wonderful event and i was determined to participate this year.

I've made this fused fibre needlecase, aprrox 10cm sq with 4 felt pages for your assortment of needles.

My lovely friend Les introduced me to this technique [from Bernie Berlins book]and has a beaut tute [sick rhyme i know!]here.
To make it a bit more secure, i randomly stitched over it. This was lots of fun and i hope to do make more of this 'fabric' The cover is filled with all sorts of lovely little snippets of fabric, wool and threads.

So if you would like your chance to win this, please sign up THIS Post.

I'm opening my giveaway to bloggers and NON-bloggers as i sometimes get non-bloggers comments, so i think thats fair. Just make sure you leave an email addy so i can get in contact with you....

I think bloglandy is an amazing place and ive made so many blogging buddies. This is such a wonderful way to not only to give something back but to make some new friends too... so dont be shy...sign up.... jenxo
